It’s time to feel the light on your face!

I am so glad you’re here. My name is Tonya and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (Supervised by Loren Hervey, LPC-S). I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, anger, and neurodivergent issues, such as ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I find joy in working with all ages, and I take pride in tailoring my approach to each individual, helping them become the very best version of themselves.

How Can I Help?

Psychodynamic Therapy and CBT

In psychodynamic therapy, individuals have the opportunity to explore past experiences and unconscious thoughts to better understand current behaviors and address emotional issues, while cognitive behavioral therapy empowers individuals to change patterns of thinking and behavior, leading to improved emotional well-being. Both approaches offer the promise of personal growth and the opportunity to overcome emotional challenges

EMDR Therapy

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a therapy that helps individuals process and cope with traumatic memories. Using techniques like hand tapping or eye movements, EMDR aims to assist individuals in processing distressing memories and creating positive associations, ultimately alleviating emotional distress linked to past trauma.

Mindfulness and Art Therapy

Mindfulness involves paying attention to the present moment without judgment, which can help individuals reduce stress and gain a greater sense of well-being. Art therapy, on the other hand, uses creative expression as a means of communication and self-discovery, allowing individuals to explore emotions, reduce anxiety, and increase self-esteem through artistic processes. Both mindfulness and art therapy can be valuable tools for promoting mental well-being and personal growth.

Child-Centered Play Therapy

Child-centered play therapy is a therapeutic approach that allows children to express themselves and explore their thoughts and feelings through play. It provides a safe and supportive environment for children to work through challenges and develop essential skills while being themselves.

About Me

I hold a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling and specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults. My primary focus is on addressing issues related to trauma and neurodivergent challenges. I am currently practicing at Lifeologie Counseling in Oak Cliff, following previous experience at the Lifeologie Plano location. Additionally, I have worked as a crisis counselor and trainer at the Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas. In a previous life, I worked as an art historian in New York City. In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, hiking, meditating, painting, and trying not to die in hot yoga.

I can’t wait to get to know you!
